My name is Tim Burlew, I am volunteer firefighter with Station 43 in Effort,PA. We serve all of Chestnuthill Township and provide mutual aid to other areas. We run approx 1200 calls a year. Previously I was a Volunteer at a combo dept in Murrels Inlet, SC.

Videos are cool, not as interested in the nonlocal stuff but it doesn't bother me that it's here. I check this site out regularly to find out what's happening in the West End, since the local papers are no help in crediting you guys with all the hard work you do.
I agree with the other anon poster. I could take or leave the videos - local or not.
I find it amazing what goes on here in the West End--I'd be clueless if not for your blog and the remnants of flares on the roads (sometimes I think it's better to be clueless actually). Almost makes me afraid to drive after seeing some of these pics---scary stuff. Thank you for all your hard work both out on the roads and here on this site. I hope and pray I never need your services.
Thanks for the feedback- I put the other stuff on when we have some slower weeks. Figure it would keep people coming back. My first priority is as always the West End. I have sent some things to the local paper and they have chosen not to use them. The one picture they did use as taken from here without permission and put on the front page. That issue has since been resolved.
We appreciate when the public sees what it is that we do for our community. These calls take us away from our families at all hours of the day and night. I should also mention that we are an all volunteer dept. we also do not get 1 cent of tax money as many NY transplants seem to think.
