An Albrightsville woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Route 115 in Tunkhannock Township on Sunday night. Carmella Prosser, 73, died Sunday night at Lehigh Valley Hospital, becoming the eighth person to die on Monroe County roads this year and the sixth fatality in February.

Prosser's car was hit by a 2005 Nissan Altima driven by a 24-year-old man whose name was not released. Police said that Prosser was turning her Toyota station wagon north on Route 115 from Mountain Road directly into the path of the Nissan and was hit on the driver's side.

Prosser was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead in the trauma unit. The driver of the Nissan was also taken for treatment but it is not known what hospital he was taken to or the extent of his injuries. The investigation is continuing.
