Black Ice Strikes the West End
The morning of 1/12/2006 was eventful as it brought out cold temperatures which froze the melting snow in the streets from the day before. The morning commute brought us two MVA's.
The first on Gilbert Road which had an SUV strike a pole and sheering off the top. Noone was injured except for my pride when I fell on my ass on the ice. Now not too worry I am A OK.
West End Fire Company would like to thank PennDOT for the 5 cones they were able to supply to help close down the road.
While keeping Gilbert Road closed we were toned out to another MVA on Route 209 near the Meadowbrook Diner. This call had a car rear end an SUV then hit a pole. Both drivers were transported by West End ALS.
