You ask, "how could you not stop for this guy?"... I wouldn't. What is he?
He's not in uniform. The basic FP book states "the only hat that can be worn on duty is 1) a campain, 2) eight point, or 3) bell cap" NOT a baseball hat. Base ball Hats can only be worn with a baseball uniform. AND where is his badge?
As a Fire Police Lt, he should know better.

I do believe his hat does say fire police- not sure what the law says as far as hats, not sure on the badge either- do know he has one

The law states in the basic FP book states: "the only hat that can be worn on duty is;
1) a campain (trooper style);
2) eight point (police style);
3) bell cap" NOT a baseball hat.
Yes everyone (including me) wears one, but it's not the official type. I do not wear mine while 'on duty'.
My second part of the question was, where is his badge? The law also tates that he must be wearing a badge of authourity (and it must be visible)

I dont know the fire police laws, but I have yet to see any fire police in any area wearing the hats that you describe. The only thing I do know is that when he is on scene I can be certain that no one will drive up on my ass whil I am on a scene- and thats all I care about

Well it clearly states in the basic book about the Proper attire of a Fire Police Office while 'on duty'. Not being nasty, but maybe your FP should retake the classes...

As a Fire Police Lieutenant in our borough and having taken, completed and passed the Pa State Fire Police Certification test and working on taking my FP instructors certification thru Bucks Cnty, I think I do know what I am taking about.
Did your Fire Police know they need to retake the class every three years and that there are 6 NEW (2005) books on Fire Police training? It's not just going out and playing in traffic and trying to look good.
