Lehighton Man Hurt In Industrial Accident
HAMILTON TOWNSHIP
A Lehighton man was hurt when his leg became trapped in a machine Friday morning at Rock Hill Materials Co. in Hamilton Township, a company spokesman said.
The accident happened about 9:45 a.m. while Karl Frable, 52, was standing on top of a conveyor belt above the ground, said company President Glenn Buskirk.The conveyor belt started and Frable's leg got caught, Buskirk said.Frable was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he was in satisfactory condition, a hospital spokeswoman said.Buskirk said Frable, who works as a truck driver and a mixer, was placing weights on part of the machine to verify the accuracy of the scales when the accident happened. The conveyor belt machine is used to move rock to be weighed and loaded onto trucks.
